Mary Gauldin, 1921-2003, Malta Bend

Mary "Hallene" Gauldin, 82, of rural Malta Bend, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.

She was born June 16, 1921, in Sedalia, a daughter of Herbert T. and Mary Rebecca Morton Lunbeck. On April 5, 1941, she was married to Charles G. Gauldin, who died Sept. 22, 1981.

Mrs. Gauldin lived in Saline County most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She was a 1939 graduate of Malta Bend High School.

Surviving are two daughters, Patsy Boedeker and Judy Schroeder, both of rural Marshall; two sisters, Marge McClain, of Independence, and Linda Musser, of Blytheville, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Cheenie Dowell; a great-granddaughter, Jillian Boedeker; and a brother, William T. Lunbeck.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Baptist Church in Saline County, with the Rev. Tim Smith and William W. Harlow officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Boedeker, Ross Day, Ross Dowell, Shannon Dowell, Kevin Yost, Joe Miller, Darren Pannier, Justin Malter and Ronnie Plattner. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Union Baptist Church or Union Cemetery.
